Don’t Let the dizzying, dazzling electro-pop sludge fool you. Woodhands aren’t button-tapping laptop wizards; they use live instrumentation to create lush, pulsating music that fills dance floors with a grimy undercurrent. For this iTunes exclusive EP, the Toronto duo put on a show, performing several synth-heavy, sweat-inducing songs from 2008’s Heart Attack, including extended versions of “Dancer and “I Can’t See Straight.” Woodhands also dig into the archives for a bass-rattling reworking of the instrumental heater “Honest Broker” and bust out guttural vocals on the superbly funky “I Should Have Gone With My Friends”.
