After a solid year spent on the road in support of the band’s debut album, Hometowns, The Rural Alberta Advantage’s momentum is carrying into 2010 and beyond. The reach of the appeal of the album was reflected on many year-end lists (Pitchfork and iTunes Canada) and will now be available through Paper Bag Records.  The RAA are currently on a cross-Canada tour (dates below).

Paper Bag Records will be issuing a limited version of Hometowns on 180 gram clear-blue vinyl with unique silk screened artwork on March 23rd.  Both vinyl and CD formats are available for pre-order HERE.

The band recently returned from a run through the US East Coast and Mid West which included a sold out show at Terminal 5 in New York City with Passion Pit, followed by 2 additional sold out shows they headlined at the Mercury Lounge in New York City. The band is now heading for an additional series of Canadian dates through to the West Coast with a finale show at the Vancouver Olympics at The Queen Elizabeth Theatre with City and Colour on February 15.

The Rural Alberta Advantage will return to Toronto in time to perform at this year’s Indie Awards during Canadian Music Week on March 13th alongside Constantines, Great Lake Swimmers and Plants and Animals.  The RAA is nominated for an award in the Best Rock Artist category.
