Press Quotes:

“Ear candy, ethereal, featherweight dance pop. The best Eurodisco is cotton candy for the ears – a sugar rush of sparkling synths, hypnobeat and delicate melody. This Swedish production hooks you before the vocals even start.” - Ken Barnes, USA Today

A fragile, wavering voice swaddled in shimmering synths that recall a particularly bittersweet flavor of European '80s dance pop obscure to American ears -- this is Sally Shapiro." - SPIN Magazine "Artist of the Day"

"the sweetest, most angelically chaste Italo Disco music you'll ever hold hands to." - Venus

"[Disco Romance is] one of the most genuinely heart-melting examples of melancholy-baby dance-pop these ears have lighted on in ages." - Harp

"Agebjörn’s imaginative disco production makes an ideal backdrop for Shapiro’s introverted vocals, which infuse Disco Romance with the artist’s distinct personality. Her tender stoicism in the face of unrequited love makes “He Keeps Me Alive” quietly devastating, and her spoken verses on “Jackie Jackie” reveal a considerable resolve that sounds anything but fake." - Paste

"the genius of retro-stylized endeavors like Swedish singer Sally Shapiro's immensely enjoyable 'Disco Romance' is that they give you a rewarding, if contradictory proposition: We get to listen to something familiar - in this case Eurobeat synth-pop - without all of the attendant baggage that comes with living culturally in the past......you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference between a declaration of undying love and a declamation of the Stockholm phone directory, but it works, drawing you in even as it pushes you away." - Boston Globe
