Paper Bag Records proudly announces the launch of Paper Bag Digital! PBD is scheduled to open its virtual doors later this month with the inaugural release of Sally Shapiro's Remix Romance Vol. 2 on June 17th, 2008 featuring Dntel, Russian Futurists and Solvent. Preceding its release date, Remix Romance Vol. 2 will first be made available June 3rd exclusively for iTunes, and will include two bonus remixes not available anywhere else! Digital-only releases are also in the works for Woodhands, rare live highlights of The Acorn’s Glory Hope Mountain, and You Say Party! We Say Die! among others.

Paper Bag Digital will not only offer an alternative destination for purchasing online music and developing emerging talent through digital releases, but will also be a complement to the conventional label's releases. Fans will be able to purchase exclusive content such as live sessions and additional recordings from artists already featured on the Paper Bag Records' roster.

Paper Bag Digital releases can primarily be found through the Paper Bag Records online shop at the label's website, www.paperbagrecords.com, and will additionally be serviced to other select online retailers. All future releases will now be available in 320k / DRM-free files on the Paper Bag Records site.

Paper Bag Records is a Canadian-owned record label based out of Toronto that came out of the gates with a bang by developing and releasing the debut albums from now-Canadian Indie darlings Broken Social Scene and Stars. Now in its fifth year, Paper Bag was recently voted the #14 best indie label in North America by the US publication, XLR8R Magazine (and also the only Canadian label to make that list). Latest additions to the roster are a true reflection of our interest in supporting a diverse roster of talent, and include artists The Acorn, Tokyo Police Club, Woodhands, Laura Barrett, You Say Party! We Say Die! and newcomer Slim Twig! We also have the pleasure of working with Scandinavian artists Under Byen and Sally Shapiro on their releases in North America.
