You Say Party! We Say Die!
You Say Party! We Say Die! is now halfway through their seven and a half week tour of Canada, and busier than ever. The band has appeared in 5 cover stories, their new album XXXX has gone 6 weeks straight at #1 on Campus Radio and they recently made an appearance on MTV live!
They’ll be opening for Phoenix at the Orpheum as part of the 2010 Olympic celebrations on January 22, 2010. For more information and to buy tickets, click here.

Slim Twig just finished up his Spit It Twig! Vol. 2, which is available for free download on Paper Bag Records!

“Spit It Twig Vol. 2 represents my commitment to the free mixtape format I admire so much in artists like Lil Wayne & the Clipse. This time I decided to stretch out my repertoire in directions both more overtly hip hop (‘This Night’s Untold’ & ‘More Mercy, Miss Percy’), and even more abstract (‘The Pink Room’, ‘Perfect Pitch’). This mix also features more collaboration than any of my other releases with contributions from Dirty Beaches, Onakabazien, D-Sisive and a (one-sided-career-fullfilling) collab with David Lynch. The diversity of Spit It Twig Vol. 2 was meant to reveal my intention & future direction with tapes which is to periodically expose experiments, and spontaneous ideas to those who are curious… all for a great price.”

Laura Barrett
Laura Barrett spent some time at the Art Gallery of Ontario with Martin Tielli of the Rheostatics in October.
Directed by Peter Lynch, the occasion was filmed for City Sonics, which you can view here
