What’s your Demo policy?

We here at Paper Bag Records are always looking for new tunes to play on the office stereo. If you’d like to forward along what you’ve been working on, please send physical CDs to the office address above or send a link to your music to info@paperbagrecords.com — we prefer links over the super huge files that jam up our email inbox, please.

Just a note, we do listen to everything that comes through our office, but due to the nature of our workload we can’t respond to everything we receive. Include your contact information along with your music—if we fall in love, you’ll be hearing from us!

Who distributes Paper Bag Records?

We work with the partners listed below but we also deal with stores directly on occasion (i.e. imports). If you’re a store email info@paperbagrecords.com. If you’re not a store please visit our our online shop.

Shop Info

Previewing

To preview albums and tracks before purchasing, click the ‘play’ button on the left-hand side of each track listing. The player will preview 30-second clips in sequence. You must have the Adobe Flash Player plugin installed and active in order to use the Audio player. Please note that not all releases have track previews available.

Formats

Our downloads are high quality MP3s encoded at 320bkps. In some cases we also have lossless FLAC versions available for a slightly higher price.

Payment

The shop processes all payments using Paypal Pro, which means you can pay using a Paypal Account, Bank transfer or Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express are supported), benefitting from the service and reliability of Paypal Pro.

Shipping and Delivery

We ship all physical merchandise using Canada Post. Out shipping rates are calculated automatically using Canada Post’s SellOnline shipping API. Orders usually ship within 1-2 days, but please allow 2-4 weeks for standard domestic delivery and up to 8 weeks for International orders to arrive.

We reserve the right to cancel or refuse any orders made with erroneously calculated shipping or tax totals. If you think the cart has  miscalculated your shipping estimate, please cancel your cart, delete your cookies and start over.

Defective Merchandise

If you any merchandise you order is defective, please contact us at info@paperbagrecords.com with details.

Downloading

When you purchase downloadable products from the Shop, you’ll receive an email with instructions for downloading your purchase. There are some restrictions on the downloads, however—you’ll have 12 hours to download the products, and you must use the same computer (IP Address) as was used to make the purchase. Under these conditions, you can download the purchase up to 3 times, just in case something goes wrong. If you’re unable to get your purchases within these conditions, email us and we’ll sort you out.

Accounts

Who needs another login and password? We don’t require accounts for previewing or purchasing from our Shop. If you want the checkout form to remember your contact details for next time, just enable ‘form autofill’ in your browser.

Order Status

You can see the status of your order by visiting the ‘Your Order’ page and entering the order number included in your email receipt.

Coupons, Promotions and Free Downloads

Coupons can be be redeemed at checkout. If you’re downloading a free product, such as a sampler, you’ll still need to enter your email address in order to receive the download link.

Our store is protected by Secure Sockets Layer Encryption (SSL), to ensure safe and secure transactions.

Privacy Policy

Any information we collect, including but not limited to the shop and mailing list, will not be shared, distributed, or used for any purpose other than those services for which you’ve provided said information.

This website was produced by Dust and Mold Design. It uses some icons from Komodo Media.

Acessibility

The client-side code for this website has been written with accessibility in mind—it uses semantic markup, and degrades gracefully in most scenarios. However, we’ve decided to go ahead and use some CSS3 selectors and behaviours, so if you’re using a browser that doesn’t support these, then you’re not seeing the site as it was meant to be seen. You should also make sure javascript and images are enabled, and if you want to use the audio player, you’ll have to install and activate the Adobe Flash Player plugin. Note also that the site uses @font-face, which at the time of launch still has shaky support across platforms and browsers—but as long as you use a browser with CSS3 support, you should be fine.
